Enter the world of 19th-century New England writer, Sarah Orne Jewett with this theatrical presentation by Rita Parisi of Waterfall Productions. Meet a family embroiled in a curse, an odd stranger who comes to a small town, and an old woman who may or may not immortal.  A native of South Berwick, Maine, Jewett was known for her vivid portrayals of New England life, often laced with elements of the mysterious and supernatural. These haunting tales will be performed in an atmospheric candlelit setting—perfect for an unforgettable evening of classic Gothic storytelling.

Rita Parisi has been captivating audiences for 30 years throughout New England and beyond. In 2005, she founded Waterfall Productions to create and tour original theatrical works inspired by her passion for theatre, literature, and historical costuming. Her performances have been featured in venues across New England, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. In addition to her stage work, Parisi has participated in Boston’s independent film scene, with films screened at both the Boston International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. She is also a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, the largest actors’ union in the country.
